Last week, the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC) met for the fifth time. The Subcommittees presented a lot of data along with draft conclusion statements based on their review of the evidence.![]()

Some notable takeaways are:![]()
⏺️ Food pattern modeling analyses indicate that nutrient intakes benefit from some modifications as well as flexibilities to the Healthy U.S.-Style dietary pattern.![]()
⏺️ No new nutrients of public health concern were identified (so potassium, calcium, vitamin D, and fiber remain).![]()
⏺️ The DGAC reviewed the current science related to ultraprocessed foods (UPF) and determined that: Limited evidence suggests that dietary patterns with higher amounts of foods classified as UPF consumed by children, adolescents, adults, and older adults are associated with greater adiposity (fat mass, waist circumference, BMI) and risk of overweight. ![]()
